Amundi SA (EPA:AMUN) has launched a tokenised share class of its flagship European equity index fund on Ethereum (ETH).

The launch extends Amundi's blockchain strategy beyond cash management solutions into broader European equity index investing.

The new share class remains integrated into Amundi's existing fund structure and investment operations.

Amundi expects tokenisation to improve operational efficiency through automated processes, faster settlement, accessibility and transparency.

The fund units were issued on the public Ethereum blockchain through infrastructure developed with CACEIS.

The launch follows Amundi's earlier tokenised money market fund, stablecoin subscriptions and partnerships with digital asset companies.

Amundi plans to expand tokenised fund offerings for institutional investors and digital platforms within regulatory and risk management frameworks.

Following the announcement, Amundi shares were down 0.26% at €94.25.
