Worldcoin [WLD] is down about 5% in the past 24 hours, extending this week’s losses to more than 17%. Over the past two weeks or so, WLD has dropped from $0.58 to the current prices of $0.36.

This extended decline has several causes, including Binance’s hack, selling from both large and small investors, and capital flight. Here is how:

Why is Worldcoin crashing?

Whales and exchanges are dumping Worldcoin tokens at a very high speed.

For instance, Binance transferred 10 million WLD, redistributing them across five addresses at the time of the press. Each of these addresses received 1.485 million WLD tokens.

The transaction count of over 1 million coins has increased from 4 to 18, more than quadrupled in a day.

Additionally, a whale has deposited 56.15 million WLD, worth $25.85 million, into Bybit, OKX, Binance, and Gate exchanges, as per Arkham. During this 10-day dumping period, the price has crashed by over 35%.

There was even capital flight as Bridge deposits into World Chain decreased from over $600 million to $348.6 million during this period. Similarly, the Total Value Locked (TVL) declined from $74 million to $60.78 million, down about 19%.

There has also been a daily token unlock of 2.90 million WLD, which adds more selling pressure. Moreover, the fears created by Binance’s hack have made the markets generally weak.

Will the selling pressure break WLD’s $0.36 support?

On the charts, WLD has been in a free fall during this selling period by whales and entities. However, the zone at $0.36 has rejected breakdown more than 5 times but looks to be getting weaker.

The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) sharply plunged from 0.22 to -0.20, indicating money outflow from the Spot market.

The Choppiness Index (CHOP) has also fallen from 58 to 39, showing the bearish trend is gaining pace. However, the trend was not yet to peak, only one point away.

If the pressure increases, the $0.36 support could break, with $0.31 becoming the next target area.

If the level holds, the altcoin may bounce back, but a full recovery may be warranted if the price closes and stays above $0.41. The next hurdles are at $0.47 and $0.58, respectively.

Altogether, the market structure on the 4-hour chart is bearish, but the altcoin is trading at a level that has rejected breakdowns five times.

Final Summary

  • Worldcoin is falling amid aggressive selling by whales and exchanges and capital outflows from its Bridges.
  • WLD’s price action was freely falling over the past 10 days, but it’s holding above the level at $0.36, which could also break.
