Bitcoin Cash price is in focus as the network's developers review a proposal aimed at supporting post-quantum and hybrid signatures. The proposal is not an activated consensus change: it remains subject to review and a defined CHIP process.
In the reading made for November 8, 2026, the Investing.com Bitcoin Cash page displayed BCH at 266.23 USD at 18:47:33. The page also showed a 24-hour volume of 213.50 million USD, a market capitalization of 5.34 billion USD, and a circulating supply of 20.11 million BCH against a maximum supply of 21 million. These figures provide a market snapshot rather than a recommendation.
Quantum-signature proposal remains open
CHIP-2026-06 would introduce the OP_SIGHASH opcode and a signature-dispatch mechanism for alternative schemes. According to The Quantum Insider, the design is intended to support post-quantum and hybrid signatures while preserving existing address formats and wallet compatibility. A hybrid signature would require both classical and post-quantum checks to succeed.
The proposal is under active discussion, with potential lock-in targeted for November 15, 2026, and mainnet activation targeted for May 15, 2027. Those dates are objectives in the review process, not completed network events. The article says Bitcoin Cash Node developers have opened a merge request implementing the opcode, but implementation work is not the same as deployment or activation.
Regulated derivatives add a new venue
Separately, CME Group announced on October 20 that FalconX and GSR had executed the first block trade in its new Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures. The CME Group announcement described the contracts as part of its cryptocurrency derivatives suite and said trading was underway on its 24/7 marketplace. Futures can support hedging and price exposure, but their launch does not establish a long-term direction for BCH.
Investor context
The combination of a protocol proposal and a regulated futures market gives investors two separate developments to monitor. The quantum-signature work concerns potential future network functionality and remains unapproved, while CME futures concern access to derivatives. The Bitcoin Cash price can respond to broader crypto-market conditions as well as BCH-specific developments, so the two announcements should not be treated as proof of a causal price reaction.
Bitcoin Cash's project website presents the network as a payment-focused digital currency and provides links for users, exchanges, pools and developers. Further coverage is available on the Bitcoin Cash topic page.
