Bitcoin (BTC) gained 14% in the year after the 2014 midterm elections, 42% after the 2018 elections and 131% after the 2022 elections. The three figures average 62.3% when rounded to one decimal place.
The 2022 gain was the largest of the three, exceeding the combined 56% gains from the 2014 and 2018 periods.
These figures provide a historical comparison. They do not establish that the elections caused the gains or indicate how Bitcoin will perform after another midterm election.
