Bitcoin price recovered sharply on November 4 after initially falling below USD 76,000 as the results of the US midterm elections became clearer. The rebound brought Bitcoin back above USD 78,000 and later toward the USD 80,000 level, although the move has not yet confirmed a lasting trend reversal.

When checked at 17:41:01 Berlin time on November 4, Investing.com displayed Bitcoin at USD 80,655.2. The same page showed a 24-hour trading volume of USD 36.09 billion, a market capitalization of USD 1.62 trillion and a market rank of one. These are intraday market data and should not be confused with a verified UTC daily close.

Election uncertainty drives a volatile session

According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin fell to just below USD 76,000 before staging a V-shaped recovery as the election outcome reduced political uncertainty. The report said Democrats were winning control of both chambers of Congress, a result viewed as less supportive for the pro-crypto legislative agenda associated with President Donald Trump.

CoinDesk also reported that traders bought hundreds of millions of dollars in Bitcoin call options on election day. The article cited approximately USD 660 million in notional BTC options blocks, including roughly USD 420 million of calls bought against USD 105 million sold. Such positioning indicates stronger short-term trading activity, but it does not establish a durable investment trend.

ETF flows remain a central test

The recovery is taking place against a weaker institutional-flow backdrop. CoinDesk cited SoSoValue data showing USD 515 million of outflows from US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs in October and a comparable amount leaving during the first two trading days of November. The report said continued ETF redemptions and a negative Coinbase premium indicator point to fragile demand.

For investors, the area between USD 80,000 and USD 82,000 is therefore important. CoinDesk cited analysts who view a sustained move through that zone, together with renewed spot demand and supportive institutional flows, as evidence that the recovery is becoming more durable. Without that confirmation, Bitcoin price remains exposed to renewed volatility after the election-driven rebound.

Bitcoin has a maximum supply of 21.00 million coins and 20.11 million were shown as circulating on Investing.com. The asset remains the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, but its intraday recovery should be assessed separately from the unresolved questions around ETF demand, regulation and broader risk appetite.
