Emerging markets debt now has a blockchain address. Centrifuge has launched a tokenized version of the Schroder International Selection Fund Emerging Market Bond strategy on Solana, with the rollout taking place on November 4, 2026.

The timing lines up with a broader milestone. Tokenized assets have reached $39.56 billion spread across 5.45 million holders.

For Schroders, the launch is also a first. It marks the asset manager’s debut on Solana.

How the product actually works

The structure is a feeder fund, set up through Anemoy, a Centrifuge affiliate. The tokenized vehicle holds shares in an existing fund, then issues its own digital shares to investors.

The fund being wrapped is a Luxembourg UCITS sub-fund with approximately $2.3 billion in assets under management. UCITS is the European regulatory framework for retail-grade investment funds.

The tokenized shares go to qualified investors, specifically non-US professional investors. The minimum ticket is $100,000.

Settlement happens in USDC. That means investors move stablecoins in and out rather than waiting on wire transfers.

The strategy itself is actively managed. It spans sovereign debt, corporate bonds, and local-currency exposures across emerging markets.

Why active EM debt is a step up

Most early tokenized funds stuck to short-dated Treasuries, which are simple to price, simple to explain, and simple to put on a blockchain.

Schroders brings scale to the experiment. The firm manages over $1 trillion, roughly $1.1 trillion or £867.8 billion as of June 2026, and says it has more than 50 years of experience in the space along with 40 professionals dedicated to EM debt.

Background: Centrifuge’s recent run

This is not Centrifuge’s first collaboration with a major traditional asset manager. In late October 2026, it partnered with Janus Henderson on a tokenized Nasdaq-100 fund.

Solana already hosts more than $4 billion in tokenized real-world assets, and Schroders’ arrival adds a recognizable fixed-income name to that roster.

The wider tokenized real-world asset market was reported at about $39 billion in late October 2026.

What this means

The feeder structure lets managers reach onchain investors without restructuring the original fund. The product is closed to US investors and carries a $100,000 minimum, so the audience is narrow by design.

Settling a $2.3 billion strategy’s tokenized shares in USDC deepens the role of stablecoins as the cash leg of onchain capital markets.
