ChatGPT’s monthly mobile app users in South Korea topped 18 million for the first time. Total usage time and average time spent per user also rose sharply.
Mobile Index, a big-data analytics platform, said on November 8 that ChatGPT’s monthly active users in South Korea, based on mobile app usage, reached 18.76 million last month, up 43.8% from a year earlier. Total usage time climbed 113.9% to 50.98 million hours. Average monthly time spent per user rose to 163 minutes from 110 minutes over the same period. Nine out of 10 users of AI apps tracked by Mobile Index used ChatGPT.
Anthropic’s Claude, the No. 2 app, is also growing quickly. It had about 2.1 million users last month, roughly 15 times more than a year earlier. By contrast, users of the No. 3 and No. 4 apps, A.Dot and Perplexity, fell 42.5% and 30.9%, respectively.
