Bitcoin is trading near $76,000 on Saturday, 7 November 2026, after a week that took the largest token down from roughly $81,000 and left the altcoin market split.

  • Bitcoin is holding near $76,000 as of 7 November, down from about $81,000 a week earlier.
  • Bitcoin fell from about $81,000 to $76,000 within roughly an hour on 30 October, after the Binance hack became public.
  • No dated crypto catalyst sits in the next 24 hours; watch whether Bitcoin holds near $76,000 when US markets reopen on Monday.

Binance Moved to Contain a $6.3 Billion Hack

Binance, the world's largest exchange, with 335 million registered users and about $162.8 billion in assets under custody as of its 2025 annual report, said it would cover all customer losses and froze $3 billion of the affected assets. Tether froze nearly $1.57 billion linked to the incident, and Circle froze more than $800 million.

Ethereum carried the heaviest share of the losses, at $3.8 billion, according to the analytics firm Elliptic. Bitcoin's market capitalization now sits at $1.520 trillion, with dominance over altcoins just below 60%.

Midterm Sweep Added a Wall Street Shock

Democrats won majorities in both the House and the Senate in the midterm elections, with some races still uncalled. The result reshaped expectations for technology regulation and AI spending, and investors sold: trillions of dollars came off the value of major tech firms in the US, Europe and Asia.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq is in a correction, down around 12% over the past month. On Friday, the Nasdaq composite still rallied 1.2%, the S&P 500 added 0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 479 points.

Rates are part of the backdrop. San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly said she expects the central bank will likely need to raise rates further to bring too-high inflation down.

Altcoins Split as Volume Drained

The largest tokens are mixed. Ethereum is near $2,250, BNB has neared $700, and XRP is well below its $1.20 support level. SOL, TRX, HYPE and LINK are slightly in the green, while XMR, DOGE, ADA, BCH, NEAR and UNI are in the red.

ZEC jumped more than 4% to $1,325 and QNT rose 5.3% to $200, while Rain and CC each fell roughly 5%. Monero traded near $612, down from $623 a day earlier but still up more than 120% from its February low near $276.

On-chain activity cooled with the price. Uniswap V3 handled $692.0 million in 24-hour DEX volume as of 13:01 UTC on 7 November, down 60% from the day before and 68.8% over seven days, according to DefiLlama.

What to Watch Into Monday

There is no scheduled crypto catalyst in the next 24 hours. The question is whether Bitcoin keeps its footing near $76,000, and whether the technology selloff on Wall Street eases when trading resumes on Monday.

One input is missing from this picture: US spot crypto ETF flow figures for 4 to 6 November could not be verified, so the market's usual daily demand read is not included here.
