Cryptocurrency markets presented a mixed picture on Friday morning, with smaller altcoins outperforming whilst the two largest digital assets drifted slightly lower.

Bitcoin edged down 0.07% to $75,927.28, whilst Ethereum edged down 0.06% to $2,233.87, with both flagship coins hovering in narrow ranges during the early session.

Cardano was the standout performer, surging 3.01% to $0.19, leading gains across the broader altcoin space. Avalanche climbed 2.39% to $8.35, and Dogecoin climbed 1.61% to $0.07, adding to a broadly constructive tone among mid- and lower-cap tokens.

Solana rose 1.03% to $90.09, whilst BNB rose 0.94% to $694.61, both notching modest but positive moves in Friday morning trade.

XRP was the session's notable laggard, declining 1.53% to $1.19, bucking the upbeat trend seen elsewhere in the altcoin market.

Overall, the session reflected a cautious but selectively optimistic mood, with investors rotating into smaller tokens even as Bitcoin and Ethereum held largely steady near recent levels.
