The Ethena USDe price remained close to its one-dollar target as attention turned from the token's peg to the way its backing is managed. The reviewed Investing.com page showed USDe at 1.000 USD, with a 24-hour volume of 45.64 million USD, a market capitalization of 4.58 billion USD and a rank of 20. Its displayed 52-week range was 0.997 to 1.002 USD.
Binance exposure remains a focus
Ethena addressed concerns about Binance-related risk in a disclosure dated October 29. As reported by Crypto Economy on October 30, the protocol reported approximately 8.8 million USD in unrealized profit-and-loss exposure to Binance. It said that figure was below an excess reserve fund of more than 60 million USD and that the collateral was held through institutional custodians rather than directly in Binance exchange wallets.
The same report said Chainlink and LlamaRisk had confirmed backing above 101 percent, with excess collateral exceeding 60 million USD. It also described USDe as relying on a delta-neutral strategy involving collateral and derivatives positions, rather than a simple one-to-one cash reserve. That structure can support yield generation but leaves holders exposed to custody, exchange, funding-rate and derivatives-market risks.
New rules change lending approvals
Ethena's October 29 institutional-lending framework is another relevant development. Blockport Research reported on November 3 that the trading team can approve qualifying borrowers of assets backing USDe without an individual Risk Committee vote. The committee retains oversight and can intervene.
The framework requires full recourse to the borrower or a parent guarantee, sanctions screening, third-party segregated custody and verifiable daily collateral reports. It permits Bitcoin, Ether and other specified collateral while excluding USDe, sUSDe, ENA, USDtb and assets issued by the borrower. The framework does not publish a numerical aggregate lending cap or a per-borrower concentration limit.
What USDe holders should monitor
The Ethena USDe price staying near 1.000 USD indicates a stable recent trading reference, but the peg alone does not remove structural risks. For investors, the key points are the quality and location of backing assets, the transparency of institutional lending and the protocol's ability to manage derivatives and counterparty exposure. Blockport Research noted that borrower rows and the update time were blank in the November 1 dashboard version it reviewed, leaving current borrower-level exposure and collateral ratios undisclosed.
