The Ethereum price is being assessed against two recent developments: continued withdrawals from U.S. spot Ether ETFs and the postponement of the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet. Investing.com displayed ETH at USD 2,291.82 on November 4, while its page listed a market capitalization of USD 279.55 billion, 24-hour volume of USD 7.89 billion and circulating supply of 122.19 million ETH.
Hoodi schedule remains open
The Ethereum Foundation said on October 22 that the Glamsterdam upgrade on Hoodi, previously scheduled for October 26, had been postponed. The stated reason was the need for further investigation into how EIP-8037 interacts with smart contracts already deployed on Ethereum. No replacement activation date has been set.
The postponement removes the previously scheduled Amsterdam execution-layer and Gloas consensus-layer activations from Hoodi, as well as a planned increase of the testnet gas limit to 200 million. The Foundation said the change concerns the testnet configuration and does not alter existing testnet history. Mainnet users and ETH holders do not need to take action as a result.
ETF flows remain a market signal
Yahoo Finance reported that U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded about USD 1.1 billion in net outflows over the three weeks through October 22. The report cited weekly withdrawals of USD 542.1 million from October 5 to 9, USD 320 million from October 12 to 16 and USD 225 million over four trading days from October 19 to 22. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust accounted for about 93 percent of the withdrawals during the cited period.
These flows provide an institutional-demand indicator, but they do not establish a one-to-one explanation for any individual ETH price move. The Ethereum price therefore remains tied to both market positioning and progress on the network's development schedule.
Roadmap still points to late 2026
The Ethereum roadmap lists Glamsterdam as in development for the fourth quarter of 2026. Its planned features include enshrined proposer-builder separation, block-level access lists and changes to gas pricing. The roadmap is a development plan rather than a confirmed launch timetable, so the Hoodi delay leaves the next activation milestone unresolved.
For investors, the immediate distinction is important: the postponed event is a testnet milestone, not a mainnet change. The combination of unsettled upgrade timing and recent ETF redemptions remains relevant context for ETH, while the next developer update will determine whether a new testing date can be established.
