Forecast Trend Report by Period

The Ethereum Foundation is aiming to complete Ethereum’s transition to quantum resistance by 2028.

Cointelegraph reported on November 3 that Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake made the remarks at the Devcon8 event in Mumbai, India. Drake said he hopes to complete both the post-quantum and post-artificial intelligence transition by December 2028. Reaching that goal would require Ethereum developers to carry out three additional network upgrades over the next roughly 24 months.

Under the Ethereum Foundation’s official roadmap, the target date for the quantum-resistant transition is December 2029. The goal Drake presented on November 3 would bring that timeline forward by one year.

Drake also said in August that he planned to deploy quantum-resistant technology across Ethereum’s three layers by 2028.
