Hyperliquid sits near its record high while Wall Street giants and a federal courtroom battle circle its core business. A $250 token would need to outgrow Solana first, and the supply schedule makes that math far trickier than it looks.

Hyperliquid (CRYPTO:HYPE) trades at $80.32, down 6.6% in the past 24 hours and 9.7% over the past week. The token is now 18% below its all-time high of $97.96, reached on September 23, 2026, and ranks 11th in market value among cryptocurrencies. Over the last 30 days, HYPE has fluctuated between $76.25 and $91.91.
Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange specializing in perpetual futures, contracts linked to an asset’s price that have no expiration date. Despite its recent price dip, HYPE has surged 215.7% in 2026. The ambitious $250 target for 2030 comes up often, requiring HYPE to climb 211.3% from its current level, something that will hinge on Hyperliquid’s ability to expand its perpetual futures business in an increasingly competitive market.
What Would $250 Mean for HYPE in 2030?

If HYPE reaches $250, it would translate to a market value of approximately $59.85 billion, based on its current circulating supply of around 239.41 million tokens. This figure represents roughly three times its current market cap of $19.27 billion and surpasses Solana’s (CRYPTO:SOL) market cap of $55.14 billion, which currently ranks 7th in the crypto market.
However, the potential for supply dilution, where new tokens enter the market over time, makes reaching $250 more challenging. The total token supply currently stands at 951.54 million against a maximum of 1 billion tokens. If the full 951.54 million token supply were in circulation by 2030, a $250 price point would equate to a market cap of about $237.88 billion, bringing HYPE close to Ethereum’s (CRYPTO:ETH) market cap of $287.62 billion.
Here’s how a $1,000 investment in HYPE at $80.32 could look at various price points in 2030:
Compared to Solana, which is currently trading 68.2% below its all-time high, HYPE trades near its own peak. We also compared their potential growth on Hyperliquid vs. Solana in “Which Has More Upside by 2030?“ and asked whether Hyperliquid could ever be worth more than Solana.
Key Factors That Could Drive HYPE Toward $250

Stock Perpetual Contracts on Hyperliquid: The Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE | ICE Price Prediction), the parent company of the NYSE, has committed to operating Trade XYZ’s regulated markets and investing in the platform. Trade XYZ is focused on creating perpetual contracts for stocks and other traditional assets using Hyperliquid’s blockchain. ICE CEO Jeff Sprecher said on October 29, 2026, that regulatory approval is crucial to this initiative.
HYPE has shown it can soar when demand for the platform increases. The token rose from $21.09 on January 20, 2026, to its all-time high in September 2026.
Legal Fight Over U.S. Stock Perpetuals: On November 3, 2026, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) approved stock perpetual futures for U.S. exchanges. However, a lawsuit from the Capital Markets Alliance, which includes partners like Cboe and Citadel Securities, aims to overturn this decision.
Judge Valerie Caproni denied a temporary restraining order that would have paused these activities while the case proceeds. Stock perpetuals continue to trade on platforms like Bitnomial and Coinbase Derivatives, part of Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN). The ruling suggests the lawsuit may succeed, which could limit regulated U.S. competitors, including ICE’s plans.
Answering Your Questions About Hyperliquid
Is Hyperliquid a Good Long-Term Investment? Hyperliquid’s long-term success will hinge on several factors. It must retain its trading base amid increased competition from regulated U.S. markets, and HYPE’s price will have to reflect the influx of new tokens over time.
Will Hyperliquid Launch in the U.S.? This is still uncertain. ICE’s plans for Trade XYZ will depend on the CFTC’s rulings, while the court fight over stock perpetuals continues.
What’s the Hyperliquid Price Prediction for 2030? The scenarios presented range from $50 to $250. What are the chances that Hyperliquid could hit $100? For that to happen, HYPE would need a 24.5% increase, a topic we’ve explored in detail regarding HYPE reaching $100 before the end of the year.
Can HYPE Reach $250 by 2030? While HYPE could reach $250 by 2030, it faces an uphill battle. Achieving this goal would require a significant increase in market value while also managing the implications of unlocking additional supply. Competition from regulated perpetual markets is a critical variable to watch closely.
To make a real run at $250, HYPE must first surpass its all-time high of $97.96 and break through $100, a target we analyzed in our assessment of HYPE’s potential before year-end. Only after that would its market value need to exceed Solana’s before a serious attempt at $250.
If regulated U.S. venues win over traders and HYPE closes below its 200-day moving average of $67.42, the $50 scenario looks far more likely than $250. A close back above $97.96 would be the first sign the higher scenarios are back in play.
