Injective’s ETF progress has opened a comparison with NEAR Protocol that goes beyond which token could deliver the bigger price move. Both products offer exposure to crypto assets and potential staking rewards, but their costs and underlying markets create different value propositions.

Our Crypto Talk recently compared the funds and gave NEAR the stronger overall assessment. A closer examination explains that preference, although several assumptions behind the comparison deserve more care before either product receives a clear advantage.

Injective ETF Combines INJ Price Exposure With Staking Rewards

Canary Capital’s Staked INJ ETF, under ticker INJC, is designed to hold Injective tokens and earn additional INJ through staking. Injective’s focus on blockchain finance gives the product a more concentrated investment theme than a broad crypto fund.

The materials describe Nasdaq listing approval as an important milestone. However, exchange approval and an effective registration statement are separate requirements. Canary’s product information now lists November 4, 2026, as its inception date, so the earlier description of INJC as simply awaiting launch needs a fresh status check before publication. The page also confirms a 1.10% sponsor fee and BitGo custody.

The proposed structure anticipates staking at least 90% of the fund’s INJ under normal conditions. That leaves room for tokens needed to meet redemptions and expenses.

The Injective Foundation’s planned purchase of up to $15 million in seed shares could help establish the fund. However, a seed commitment paid in INJ should not be treated as equivalent to $15 million of new cash purchases through crypto exchanges.

That distinction matters when assessing the potential effect on Injective price. Moving existing tokens into a fund creates a different demand event from purchasing additional tokens through the market.

Injective ETF Fees Reduce Its Advertised Yield Advantage

Our Crypto Talk uses a 7.5% gross staking yield for INJ, then deducts a 30% share of rewards and the 1.10% annual sponsor fee.

That simplified calculation produces approximately 4.15% annually:

  • Gross staking rewards begin at 7.5%.
  • A 30% reward deduction leaves 5.25%.
  • The sponsor fee reduces that estimate to 4.15%.

However, the calculation assumes the entire portfolio earns that staking rate. A fund that stakes 90% of its assets would produce approximately 3.63% after those deductions, before other effects.

Canary also explains that its published net staking yield excludes the sponsor fee. Readers therefore need to check which costs a displayed yield already includes before subtracting additional charges.

The 21 day unbonding period creates another practical consideration. Tokens undergoing withdrawal from staking cannot immediately support redemptions, so liquidity management can affect how much capital earns rewards.

NEAR Protocol ETF Offers An Existing Performance Record

Bitwise’s NEAR ETF, under ticker NRR, began trading on NYSE Arca on September 29, 2026. The launch gave brokerage investors exposure to NEAR without the need to manage tokens or validators themselves.

NEAR Protocol provides blockchain infrastructure for applications and transactions across networks. The supplied material connects its investment case to NEAR Intents activity and wider ecosystem use.

The early flow figures describe a strong opening, followed by withdrawals during early November. Those changes need careful interpretation because fund inflows and assets under management measure different things.

$INJ ETF vs $NEAR ETF Which one is better for you?👇 Nasdaq has approved the listing of the Canary Staked INJ ETF under the ticker INJC Bitwise’s NEAR has been live on NYSE Arca since late September, while INJC still needs its S-1 to go effective before trading begins. INJ : INJC is pending, with the Nasdaq listing approved and the S-1 not yet effective NEAR : NRR is live on NYSE Arca since late September → What the fees take from you INJ : 1.10% annual fee plus up to 30% of staking rewards NEAR : 0.75% sponsor fee → Staking yield before costs INJ : 7.5% gross staking APY, reduced by the fee and reward share NEAR : 5% gross, reduced by the 0.75% fee → How liquid the underlying market is INJ : $800M market cap with TVL around $20M NEAR : $5.25B market cap with TVL above $190M → Supply and how much gets staked INJ : 100M circulating, close to its hard cap, with 47% staked NEAR : 1.31B circulating with 45-46% staked → Size and track record so far INJ : no trading history yet, with a seed commitment of up to $15M from the Injective Foundation NEAR : ~$61M in AUM, with the 1 month NAV down roughly 20% → Unbonding periods and staking setup INJ : a 21 day unbonding period means the fund needs a liquidity buffer NEAR : in-house staking at around 94%, with rewards accruing to NAV Our Take 👇 If I had to pick one purely on the products and the assets behind them, I would lean NEAR, and I think INJ is the one I’d treat as the higher risk, higher upside bet. Once fees are in, the yield difference mostly disappears for me, since INJ lands around 4.1% after the 30% reward share and the 1.10% fee, while NEAR lands around 4.2% after its 0.75% fee. With yield about even, what tips it for me is a market cap roughly six times larger and about ten times the TVL, which says a lot about liquidity and ecosystem depth. That said, I can see why people get excited about INJ, because a supply near its 100M hard cap and a clear finance niche is a story that can move fast. A market cap around $800M also means flows from an ETF could shift the price more than they would for NEAR. So my own take is NEAR for the stronger foundation and INJ if you want a sharper swing, though both carry the full volatility of crypto. Where would you put your money?

Net inflows track subscriptions minus withdrawals. Assets under management also change with NEAR price, so a fund can retain positive cumulative inflows after its holdings lose value.

The supplied NEAR price estimate near $4.29 therefore belongs alongside the flow discussion. ETF access can create another channel for demand, but it does not prevent the underlying token from falling.

NEAR ETF Staking Returns Require More Than A Fee Subtraction

Our Crypto Talk estimates NEAR’s net yield near 4.2% by subtracting the 0.75% sponsor fee from approximately 5% gross staking rewards.

However, Bitwise’s November 2 disclosures show a 4.98% gross reward rate, a 3.34% net staking reward rate, and 94% of assets staked. Those figures demonstrate why the simple 4.2% estimate should not be presented as an established fund return.

Staking participation, service costs and changing network rewards can all affect the result. Neither fund’s gross network yield guarantees the return shareholders receive.

The supplied governance update also describes a reduction in NEAR issuance. Lower issuance could reduce dilution, but it could also affect staking rewards. Lower inflation alone does not establish a stronger total return.

Injective ETF And NEAR ETF Offer Different Value Propositions

Our Crypto Talk places INJ’s market capitalization around $800 million and NEAR’s around $5.25 billion. Its comparison also gives Injective approximately $20 million in total value locked against more than $190 million for NEAR.

Those estimates support a size comparison, although market capitalization and total value locked do not directly measure trading liquidity.

Our Crypto Talk favors NEAR because of its larger ecosystem and lower sponsor fee. That reasoning is understandable, but a larger market does not guarantee better performance.

The claim that INJ is close to a fixed 100 million hard cap also needs correction. Canary’s November filing describes ongoing issuance and a total supply above 122 million as of September 15. The scarcity argument therefore requires more nuance than the original comparison provides.

What Could Happen Next For INJ And NEAR ETF Value?

A stronger crypto market could help both funds, although INJ’s smaller market could make additional demand more noticeable. That same sensitivity could deepen losses when demand weakens.

NEAR offers a lower sponsor fee and an existing trading record, but its record already includes substantial volatility. Bitwise reports a 20.15% monthly NAV decline through October 30. nrretf.com

NEAR currently has the clearer case on headline costs and product history. Injective offers a more concentrated finance theme, but its higher gross staking estimate does not settle the comparison. T
