Bitcoin just slid nearly 40% below its peak, and three leading AI models agree on one move but split sharply on the payoff. Which forecast demands a near doubling, and which one stays far more grounded?

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) fell below $80,000, trading at $76,280 after a 5% decline in just 24 hours. The coin has dropped 10.8% in the past month, falling from a high of $85,540 on October 6, and now trades 39.5% below its all-time high of $126,080.
As Bitcoin hovers around the $80,000 mark, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok provided their outlook on its future around 15:30 UTC. Each started with a price of $76,537, about 39.3% below its all-time high, and projected where Bitcoin might be by December 31, 2027.
All three models said buying Bitcoin under $80,000 is a reasonable long-term entry. ChatGPT and Grok both predict $150,000, while Claude anticipates $115,000. So, does this mean Bitcoin is a wise investment at these levels, and how realistic are these forecasts?
What the Three Models Say About Buying Under $80,000

What Bitcoin Would Be Worth at $115,000 or $150,000

Bitcoin’s market capitalization stands at approximately $1.53 trillion, with 20,105,365 coins in circulation. If Bitcoin reaches $150,000, its market cap would rise to around $3.02 trillion. At $115,000, it would be about $2.31 trillion.
Past prices can be tough to regain due to supply dilution, the gradual increase in circulating coins as miners produce new ones. To return to its all-time high of $126,080, Bitcoin would need a market cap of $2.53 trillion, and each coin mined before 2027 makes that target higher. Claude estimates that about 450 BTC are mined daily, against a hard cap of 21 million coins.
From its current price of $76,280, Bitcoin would need to rise roughly 50.8% to hit $115,000 and about 96.6% to reach $150,000. ChatGPT’s and Grok’s predictions require Bitcoin to break its former all-time high, while Claude’s projection does not.
Factors That Could Propel Bitcoin Above $100,000

- ETF Demand Fluctuates. Demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs—funds that hold actual Bitcoin so investors can buy through a brokerage—has been inconsistent. On November 4, these funds saw a net influx of $74.6 million after three consecutive days of outflows, including a significant $643.3 million exit on October 30, a pattern seen earlier in this year’s ETF flow swings. Total cumulative net inflows reached $56.54 billion, down from a peak of $57.96 billion on October 21.
- Federal Reserve’s Rate Decisions Create Uncertainty. The Federal Reserve’s current target rate is capped at 4.00%, up from 3.75% on September 17. Claude believes falling interest rates could help Bitcoin and similar investments. Despite the broad money supply hitting an all-time high of $23.41 trillion in September 2026, Bitcoin has still fallen 26.6% over the past year, suggesting the money supply increase hasn’t boosted its price.
- Upcoming Halving Cycle Might Indicate Recovery in 2027. A Bitcoin halving occurs approximately every four years, reducing the rewards for miners. Both Claude and Grok predict the next halving will occur around April 2028 and view 2027 as a year of recovery, the same question examined earlier this year. Bitcoin previously followed a similar trend in the pre-halving year, rising from a January 2023 low of $16,507 to a December 2023 close of $42,224.
Can Bitcoin Hit $150,000 by 2027?

Bitcoin reaching $150,000 by December 31, 2027 looks challenging, since that would require nearly a doubling of its value within 14 months while the Fed holds its rate at 4.00%. Claude’s $115,000 target appears more attainable if ETF demand ramps up. To hit that target, Bitcoin must first clear $80,000, then its 50-day average of $82,006, then the October high of $85,540, then the $100,000 level ChatGPT warns could limit prices well into 2027.
Bitcoin is trading below Glassnode’s active-investor cost basis of $77,700, which means many recent buyers are at a loss. A break of Glassnode’s $75,700 support could send it back to the June low of $58,566, inside Claude’s $55,000 to $65,000 warning zone. The three models couldn’t factor in ETF trends still to come, so a sustained close above $85,540 alongside cumulative ETF inflows exceeding $57.96 billion would make the $115,000 target more credible.
Bitcoin Price Prediction 2027: Frequently Asked Questions
Is Now a Good Time to Buy Bitcoin Under $80,000? All three models suggest that prices below $80,000 represent a reasonable entry point for long-term investors who can handle more declines. ChatGPT suggested splitting an allocation into three or four purchases over several months.
How High Could Bitcoin Go in 2027? ChatGPT and Grok both point to $150,000 by December 31, 2027, while Claude expects $115,000. Claude added that a strong liquidity cycle could push the price past $140,000, and Grok cited Standard Chartered’s more optimistic $200,000 target.
