NEAR Protocol is clinging to a closely watched support zone, with the token trading near $3.69-$3.75 as traders weigh whether the recent slide is a pause before a fresh leg higher or the start of a deeper breakdown.

The asset changed hands at about $3.69 in CoinMarketCap data, down more than 1.3% over 24 hours. The decline extends a bruising stretch: NEAR has lost over 15% in a week and more than 23% in a month, a sharp reversal for a token that had rallied more than 100% before the pullback. The drop came as Bitcoin and Ether also slipped following a $6.3 billion Binance hack roughly a week earlier, and neither of the two largest cryptocurrencies has reclaimed the support levels it lost.

Separate market data put the token at $3.75, up 1.63% in 24 hours, inside a range of $3.68 to $3.83. Binance spot volume of about $55.95 million kept the move relevant, though the bounce has so far amounted to stabilization rather than a confirmed turn.

Technical picture remains divided

The chart structure still leans cautious. NEAR trades below its 7-day simple moving average of $3.87, the 20-day at $4.38, the 50-day at $4.68, the 12-day exponential moving average at $4.06 and the 26-day EMA at $4.32 - a stack of overhead levels that caps the short-term outlook even after the latest bounce. The 200-day SMA at $2.61 sits well below the current price, suggesting the longer-term trend has not been broken.

Momentum gauges point to a market still working off weakness. The daily relative strength index reads 39.67, in neutral territory, while the MACD is -0.2536 with a flat histogram at 0.0000. Stochastic readings of 10.22 for %K and 8.18 for %D place price near the bottom of its recent range, and Bollinger Band positioning reinforces that view: the lower band sits at $3.47, the middle at $4.38, and %B at 0.1540 puts NEAR close to lower-band support.

Derivatives positioning is mixed rather than decisive. The 8-hour funding rate of 0.0100% is neutral, and open interest slipped 0.95% over 24 hours to $154.86 million, a sign leverage has not expanded aggressively into the move. Binance's global long/short ratio at 07:00 UTC on Nov. 7 showed 55.3% long against 44.7% short, while top traders were more tilted at 59.6% long versus 40.4% short - a mild bullish bias within Binance cohorts, but not a conviction signal on its own.

Order flow offers the more immediate tell. A one-hour taker buy/sell ratio of 0.7972, with buy volume of 668,994 against sell volume of 839,191, shows aggressive selling still outweighing aggressive buying near current levels, limiting the quality of rebounds unless buyers absorb supply more convincingly.

Bulls point to a repeat of past breakouts

Analysts tracking the token argue the current range is a major support zone. If it holds after the slide from almost $6 back toward $3, the reasoning goes, NEAR could rebound quickly to reclaim $5-$6 and then push toward a $9 bull target. For weeks, market watchers have debated whether NEAR can outperform most altcoins, citing consistent blockchain performance and recent artificial-intelligence features that have strengthened its ecosystem.

One prominent crypto trader and analyst said the chart shows signs of an explosive run, comparing it to the period when Zcash surged from $500 to $1,700. In that view, both assets rallied hard, stalled and then continued higher once the market recovered, and NEAR is expected to reach double-digit prices soon.

The same analyst described NEAR as sitting at a good support line and, after trading around $5.6, facing another promising opportunity. Market sentiment is constructive, with bulls positioned for a parabolic move as funding rates appear in sync, according to that assessment. What remains, the analyst concluded, is explosive volume and rising interest that could carry the token to $11 and $30 targets.

What to watch

The near-term test is whether NEAR can hold the lower edge of its range. A defense of $3.67 alongside a reclaim of the $3.82-$3.90 resistance band would shift the move from stabilization into a better-defined recovery. A loss of $3.67 would weaken the structure quickly and send the market back to defending the bottom of the range.

For investors, the setup is a standoff between a long-term trend that remains intact and short-term momentum that has yet to confirm a reversal. The token's ability to attract fresh volume - rather than simply stop falling - is likely to determine whether the $9, $11 and $30 projections gain traction or remain chart-drawn targets.
