One of the challenges i see with bringing more traditional financial activity onchain is that a lot of the information needed to make financial decisions still exists outside the blockchain Bank balances, credit histories, institutional reserves and trading positions aren't naturally accessible to smart contracts, and making that information public isn't always practical either This becomes particularly relevant as DeFi expands into RWAs, private credit and institutional lending, where reliable financial information is just as important as liquidity I've been looking into @primus_labs and its approach to this problem is quite interesting Primus is building a verification and confidential computation layer that integrates with existing blockchain infrastructure, using two main technologies: 1️⃣ zkTLS: Verifies that offchain information came from an authentic website or API without disclosing the full underlying data 2️⃣ zkFHE: Enables computation on encrypted information, allowing sensitive financial data to be processed while remaining confidential The combination creates some useful possibilities for onchain finance. Like stablecoin reserves for example A protocol might hold collateral across DeFi markets and centralized exchanges, but verifying those positions becomes difficult when balances exist behind private exchange accounts Primus is already addressing this through its Proof-of-Reserves work with Perena's USD and Unitas's USDu, alongside @brevis_zk These integrations allow reserve information to be verified without requiring every underlying account detail to become public And I think the opportunity extends further into credit markets With initiatives like ZKredit, borrowers could potentially prove aspects of their financial standing using offchain records without exposing their entire account history That could give lending protocols more information to evaluate borrowers and design credit products beyond the usual overcollateralized model Ofc verifying information doesn't automatically eliminate credit risk or guarantee institutional adoption But as more financial assets become usable onchain, the ability to authenticate sensitive data and compute on it privately becomes increasingly relevant That's where I see @primus_labs fitting into the broader expansion of DeFi and institutional finance The assets are moving onchain, and the infrastructure needed to verify the financial information behind them is developing alongside that transition
