Samsung, the renowned android phones manufacturer, has introduced $USDC stablecoin support in its Samsung Wallet app. Samsung is allowing eligible users in the United States to buy, hold, send, and receive the dollar-pegged stablecoin. The integration brings cryptocurrency services directly into Samsung’s existing mobile wallet. This has the potential to reach around 82 million compatible devices.

Samsung Wallet Integrates USDC on Solana

The feature supports $USDC on the Solana blockchain. Users can access the stablecoin without installing a separate cryptocurrency application. With the new feature, eligible users can purchase USDC and transfer it to other Samsung Wallet users.

Samsung will not charge fees for transfers between supported wallets. However, third-party service providers may apply their own charges. Users can also send funds to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients will receive equivalent amount in their local currencies.

The service uses a custodial structure, meaning users do not directly manage their private keys. Bastion acts as the primary licensed custodian while Coinbase provides additional custody services.

USDC Wallet Feature Has Geographic Restrictions

The new functionality is available to US residents aged a minimum of 18 years and have a Samsung Account on a compatible Galaxy device running Android 13 or above. However, residents of New York are excluded.

Users can add funds through supported payment methods, including credit cards and Samsung Pay. Top-ups carry transaction fees. Withdrawals to bank accounts and debit cards also involve charges. Samsung is offering an introductory promotion under which eligible first-time users who add at least $50 may receive an additional $25 in USDC.

Samsung had initially announced the integration in early October 2026. Samsung had collaborated with the Solana Foundation for this launch. The rollout was originally expected in late October. In addition, Samsung is also considering further expansion. The development will depend on regulatory requirements and future product decisions.
