Stablecoin liquidation continues to drop throughout the cryptocurrency markets, reducing capital that will be used to support investor and trader transactions. In April, the total amount of all stable coins was $280 billion, and it has now decreased to $263 billion.
This decrease in value represents a 6% reduction from April to date.
Binance is experiencing a much larger loss than many of the other large cryptocurrency exchanges due to the decrease in its reserve of stablecoins. Prior to the recent losses, Binance held around $51 billion worth of stablecoins in reserve.
Currently, that number stands at approximately $33.9 billion. The recent losses experienced by Binance are reflective of the recent hacking incident, which saw an approximate loss of $3 billion removed from the platform.
As investors withdraw their stablecoins and transfer their assets to other cryptocurrency platforms, they are taking away purchasing power from these exchanges.
When exchanges lose purchasing power, the demand for products purchased using cryptocurrencies can suffer. This could result in increased downward pressure on prices.
Binance USDT reserves shrink
A similar effect is being felt on Ethereum’s [ETH] ability to rapidly purchase any asset based on immediate needs for such. Over the past thirty days, Binance’s Ethereum-based reserves for Tether [USDT] have been reduced by 7.8% to $34.78 billion.
The declines in reserves reflect ongoing withdrawals. For example, each day for the past month has reflected an average weekly net flow of withdrawals that has resulted in a negative balance.
Although some funds may have moved into self-custody or other platforms, Binance now holds less capital ready for trading.
This weakness coincides with muted ETH spot volumes, limited exchange accumulation, and continued outflows from Ethereum ETFs. As both institutional and spot demand decrease, so do the availability of buyers willing to acquire selling assets.
Therefore, ETH price action is facing increasing downward pressures until renewed influxes of USDT occur into exchanges and demand for investments increases.
Solana stablecoin card spending hits record
While exchange liquidity weakens, Solana [SOL] is recording increases in payments made utilizing stablecoins. On the 31st of October, the total monthly volume of card spending reached a record high of $141 million.
This was a sevenfold increase compared to October 2025 and represented a significant increase since spending first crossed the $50 million mark per month in January 2026.
The recent increase indicates an increasing reliance upon Solana-based stablecoins for daily use cases. Therefore, regardless of declining global cryptocurrency liquidations, Solana is gaining an additional form of network demand through utility.
