Three major crypto industry political action committees (PACs) spent about $170 million in the 2026 U.S. midterms, roughly $100 million more than AI-related PACs, while candidates backed by AI PACs lost several races.

The three crypto PACs spent about $170 million combined, compared with about $72 million from AI-related PACs, a difference of roughly $100 million. A broader estimate of crypto-focused spending put spending at about $176 million across more than 100 midterm contests, a wider measure than the three-PAC total.

Darline Graham in South Carolina, Mike Rogers in Michigan and @CarlosForTexas in Texas lost their races after receiving support from AI PACs.

Crypto groups spent more than $64 million opposing Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown, but he won the seat and returned to the Senate. Earlier crypto PAC spending against Brown in Ohio had topped $52 million.
