• Coinbase Global (NasdaqGS:COIN) introduced USDC loans backed by PAX Gold collateral through Morpho on the Base network in early November 2026.
  • The new feature lets eligible users borrow USDC while keeping tokenized gold exposure via PAXG held inside the Coinbase app.
  • This is the first time Coinbase has integrated PAX Gold as an in-app collateral option alongside its existing crypto-focused lending tools.
  • Coinbase’s move to support PAX Gold backed USDC borrowing adds context to wider themes our latest research highlights for the business. We have also spotted 1 warning sign worth knowing about at Coinbase Global.

For investors comparing Coinbase’s latest lending move with peers in the digital asset space, the next logical step is 19 cryptocurrency and blockchain stocks.

Coinbase Global, a US based crypto asset platform with a market value of about $35.7b, is using its capital markets footing to blend tokenized commodities with dollar-pegged lending products that are accessible directly through its consumer app.

1 thing going right for Coinbase Global that this headline doesn't cover.

How gold-backed lending plugs into the Coinbase Global Narrative

The Coinbase Global Narrative treats the business as an “Everything Exchange” where stablecoins, tokenization and Base-powered tools build steadier fee streams alongside trading. Letting users borrow USDC against PAX Gold inside the app slots directly into that push to turn onchain assets into recurring, service-style income.

"The main requirement for this strategy is that Coinbase Global converts its push into stablecoins, tokenized equities, Base and AI enabled productivity into durable, diversified revenue while managing regulatory actions and jurisdictional limits on products such as prediction markets..."

See how the full story points towards a $211 fair value for Coinbase Global.

This PAX Gold backed USDC product is a live test of the catalyst that treats USDC, tokenization and Base as revenue engines rather than side projects. It gives Coinbase Global one more way to earn from balances and onchain activity, similar to how Binance and Kraken try to monetise collateral and margin, but wrapped in a tokenized-commodity angle that fits the “Everything Exchange” vision.

The same move also leans into a highlighted risk, because tying more activity to tokenized assets and DeFi-style protocols increases the chance of future product-specific scrutiny. If regulators tighten rules around collateralised stablecoin lending or tokenized commodities, the very lines meant to diversify Coinbase Global’s income could face the kind of restrictions already flagged for prediction markets and tokenized equities.

For an investor, treating this sort of product launch as one data point inside a wider Narrative is what turns scattered crypto headlines into a coherent decision about Coinbase Global.

Investors responded as though Congress will rein in the AI boom. I think economics will supersede campaign promises.

What does rising cash burn mean for AI stocks?

Alphabet had its worst day on record after reporting, and it wasn’t alone. After three years of rewarding spending by AI stocks, the market has started to become wary of just how much that growth is really costing.

Trending Discussion

Today's Q3 answers the question this update left open, whether the Q2 acceleration would last. Nights and Seats Booked grew 16%, up from the 10% you cite for Q2, and Gross Booking Value grew 21% to $27.7B. Revenue was $4.9B, up 19% (16% excluding currency), against about $4.75B consensus, and first-time bookers grew 13% against your 11%. The full-year adjusted EBITDA margin target moves to about 36% from at least 35.5%. Two caveats: the Q4 guide of $3.22B to $3.28B includes about 2 points of currency help, and management says it is "closely monitoring ongoing developments in EMEA". On the digital-only backlash: it barely touches the revenue mix. Take-Two's June-quarter 10-Q shows digital online at $1,507.3M, 98.3% of net revenue, with physical retail and other at $26.6M (1.7%). The next datapoint is Monday, Nov 9, when it reports the September quarter (call at 21:30 UTC). https://equibles.com/stocks/ttwo/documents/5363b508-173f-4bb1-bec5-514807d404eeData: Take-Two 10-Q, processed by Equibles.

Today's Q1 FY27 guide updates two inputs here. Subscription ARR growth for FY27 is now about 18.5%, a touch above the 18% cited, but total revenue growth is guided at about 13.75%, below the 14.9% this valuation assumes, though both were raised tonight from August's 18% and 13%. The shape matters more than the level: Q1 grew 24% to $1,772M, the Q2 guide of $1,825M to $1,835M is about 15%, and on FY26 revenue of $6,572M the full-year guide leaves roughly 9% growth for the second half (my arithmetic). Data Center revenue is guided down about 16% for the year, and the normalizing migration benefit you flag shows in the cloud guide: about 26% for FY27 after 31% in Q1.
