Shares of Applied Digital (APLD) rose 9.7% on Friday, November 6, 2026, outpacing a 0.3% gain for the S&P 500. The advance occurred alongside rallies across all five of the company’s industry peers, two of which posted larger increases than Applied Digital. This upward movement also followed a 14.7% drop during the prior session. So what ties Applied Digital to the peers it rose with?

Applied Digital Runs AI Data Centers And Bitcoin Sites

Applied Digital operates among a group of former crypto miners that have rebuilt themselves as AI data center landlords. During an October 7, 2026 call, management said the company has about $36 billion in contracted revenue across 5 campuses. The older business remains active as well: the Data Center Hosting segment, which runs 2 bitcoin hosting sites, generated $37.8 million of revenue in fiscal Q1 2027.

This operational mix places Applied Digital alongside bitcoin miners that investors currently price as AI data center developers. On Friday, bets on AI data centers lifted those miners even as bitcoin traded flat, with Riot Platforms, Hut 8 and MARA among the gainers. The prior session’s drop came on Thursday, November 5, a day when a news report cited deepening fears over Texas data centers.

Did Applied Digital Rise With Its Peers Or Alone?

Applied Digital rose with its peers as all five recorded Friday advances, ranging from Core Scientific’s 3.3% to Hut 8’s 14.6%. Applied Digital finished near the middle of that group, lagging Hut 8 and Riot Platforms. Elsewhere in the cohort, CleanSpark advanced 8.5% and MARA increased 8.1%.

Movement across the rest of the market was much more muted. The technology sector fund XLK, which covers Applied Digital’s sector, added 1.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 1.1%. Friday’s upward action belonged specifically to this cluster of data center builders, not to technology stocks at large.

Where Does Applied Digital Stock Stand After The Gain?

A move of this magnitude is not unusual for Applied Digital: the stock recorded 15 sessions with a gain at least this big in the prior 365 days. Following Friday’s movement, shares remain down 53.0% over the past twelve months, compared to a 9.8% gain for the S&P 500.

Shares finished Friday at $15.55, one day after recording a one-year low close of $14.17 on November 5. The stock previously reached its highest close of $49.65 on May 28, 2026. Overall, Applied Digital lost 62.3% over the past six months, shedding 34.8% of its value in the past month alone.

On sales, you still pay more for Applied Digital than for the broader market. The stock trades at 5.3 times its revenue over the last twelve months, against 3.1 times for the S&P 500.

Applied Digital is expected to report its fiscal Q2 2027 results in January 2027. Revenue from the high-performance computing hosting business, covering the campuses it leases to AI customers, is the measure to watch. That metric was $262.6 million in fiscal Q1 2027.
