Bitdeer Technologies Group Investment Narrative Recap

To back Bitdeer Technologies Group as a shareholder, you need to believe the pivot toward self mining and AI or colocation can eventually outweigh current losses. The latest forecast points to a deeper quarterly loss per share while revenue shifts toward more capital heavy self mining. That mix keeps execution risk high and makes near term cash generation a key focus.

The main near term catalyst remains progress on higher margin, contracted AI and colocation projects such as Tydal and the Malaysian campuses, which aim to diversify away from pure Bitcoin exposure. The biggest immediate risk still sits in mining economics and power costs, since expanding a historically loss making segment could pressure margins and shorten an already tight cash runway.

With no new formal announcements around contracts or financing tied directly to this quarterly outlook, the most relevant reference point remains the previously outlined AI cloud ramp. Management has talked about facilities that already support annual recurring revenue of about US$76 million from roughly 4,248 GPUs, plus customer commitments above US$1.7b linked to Malaysian sites.

For you, the link to today’s forecasts is simple. The more Bitdeer Technologies Group leans into self mining to drive top line, the more important it becomes that AI cloud and long term leases such as Tydal start carrying a larger share of earnings power. Any delay in energizing capacity or converting commitments could leave the business more exposed to volatile Bitcoin pricing and to the burden of US$1.8b of long term debt and ongoing capex.

Bitdeer Technologies Group’s current analyst narrative points to forecast revenue of about US$3.2b and earnings of roughly US$398.8 million by 2029, based on an assumed 58.4% yearly revenue growth rate and an earnings swing of about US$627.4 million from earnings today of a US$228.6 million loss.

Uncover why Bitdeer Technologies Group's fair value indicates a 263% potential upside to its current price, a gap that could narrow quickly.

Exploring Other Perspectives

For a very different angle, focus on execution risk. The most bearish Bitdeer Technologies Group analysts worry that AI colocation build delays could keep the business stuck with weak margins. They were pencilling in about US$1.9b of revenue and US$232.8 million of earnings by 2029, versus the higher US$3.2b and US$398.8 million consensus; their narrative is far more cautious. These views were all set before this earnings update, so treat them as starting points and explore how your own expectations might shift as fresh information filters through.

Alphabet had its worst day on record after reporting, and it wasn’t alone. After three years of rewarding spending by AI stocks, the market has started to become wary of just how much that growth is really costing.

Today's Q3 answers the question this update left open, whether the Q2 acceleration would last. Nights and Seats Booked grew 16%, up from the 10% you cite for Q2, and Gross Booking Value grew 21% to $27.7B. Revenue was $4.9B, up 19% (16% excluding currency), against about $4.75B consensus, and first-time bookers grew 13% against your 11%. The full-year adjusted EBITDA margin target moves to about 36% from at least 35.5%. Two caveats: the Q4 guide of $3.22B to $3.28B includes about 2 points of currency help, and management says it is "closely monitoring ongoing developments in EMEA". Today's Q1 FY27 guide updates two inputs here. Subscription ARR growth for FY27 is now about 18.5%, a touch above the 18% cited, but total revenue growth is guided at about 13.75%, below the 14.9% this valuation assumes, though both were raised tonight from August's 18% and 13%. The shape matters more than the level: Q1 grew 24% to $1,772M, the Q2 guide of $1,825M to $1,835M is about 15%, and on FY26 revenue of $6,572M the full-year guide leaves roughly 9% growth for the second half (my arithmetic). Data Center revenue is guided down about 16% for the year, and the normalizing migration benefit you flag shows in the cloud guide: about 26% for FY27 after 31% in Q1. Before leaning on "sustained high revenue growth", today's 10-Q is worth a look. Q3 revenue was $173.8M, up 336%, but that holds two months of SkyWater, closed July 31. The filing's pro forma table, which treats the 2026 deals as closed on January 1, 2025, shows Q3 at $215.8M against $217.3M a year earlier, about flat. IonQ Platform alone grew 127% to $90.3M, so on these numbers the rest of the combined business shrank, though the CFO called SkyWater's quarter very strong. The FY guide of $505M to $515M implies Q4 of about $186.5M to $196.5M, below that pro forma Q3. That may prove conservative, but it's the number to ask about.
