Zilliqa adopts the Zilliqa Institutional Layer identity on 05 Nov 2026, with a focus on regulated institutions. ZIL remains the project's token under the new identity.
The new direction moves Zilliqa from a standalone Layer 1 to an Ethereum Layer 2 for regulated institutions. This changes the underlying network model associated with ZIL while retaining the token. Technical details and any migration steps have yet to be published.
