Binance Chief Financial Officer Kaiser Ng has resigned in the wake of a recent large-scale hack.

Bloomberg reported on November 7 that Binance co-Chief Executive Officer He Yi announced Ng's departure that day. The announcement came just days after hackers stole more than $6 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance, Bloomberg said.

Binance said the CFO transition had been planned before the hack. He Yi said Ng decided to pursue a new challenge after more than five years at Binance and that a handover plan had been in place for the past six months.

Justin Yek, formerly of payments company Airwallex, has been appointed CFO. He said he will lead the finance organization so the company can grow responsibly and achieve its global business goals.
