Political uncertainty surrounding the U.S. midterm elections is weakening sentiment in the cryptocurrency market, according to an analysis. Bitcoin was trading near $77,500 as investors weighed the potential for policy shifts depending on the election outcome.

Santiment, an on-chain analytics firm, said on November 3 that expectations are spreading among investors that Democrats could win a majority in the House of Representatives. The Senate race is also seen as tight, adding to concerns over political uncertainty.

Some crypto investors view continued Republican control of Congress as a more favorable outcome for the industry. Republican leaders and the Trump administration have pushed digital-asset regulation, stablecoin-related frameworks and protections for self-custody, and the possibility of Democrats gaining more seats is weighing on sentiment.

At the same time, some observers said excessive pessimism in the market could signal a short-term rebound. If Bitcoin holds the $76,500 to $77,000 range while negative sentiment persists, the chances of a rebound could rise.

An analysis showed that a recovery above $79,000 could strengthen signs of a rebound, while a drop below $76,000 could heighten the risk of further weakness.
