Ethereum price is nearing a key recovery threshold as buyers try to seize control again after several weeks of downward pressure. With the asset trading close to $2,300, traders are monitoring whether the improving price action can turn into a lasting reversal or merely another short-lived bounce amid the wider correction.

As of press time, Ethereum (ETH) is changing hands at $2,289.88, up 1.62% over the last 24 hours. This latest rebound arrives as market participants weigh falling derivatives exposure, better short-term price action, and the resistance levels that may shape ETH’s next move.
What Is Fueling the Ethereum Price Recovery?
In a recent X post, crypto analyst Ted Pillows pointed to Ethereum’s relative strength, hinting that the asset may be nearing a reversal. He noted that Ethereum had been “holding up well” in recent days, adding that “buyers are stepping in.”
Pillows flagged $2,300 as the key level Ethereum must reclaim before a more powerful rally can take shape. He specifically stated that “ETH needs to reclaim $2,300 for a decent rally.” His take comes as ETH tries to steady itself after its recent slide, drawing fresh attention to buying pressure and the asset’s capacity to clear nearby resistance.

Can Ethereum Price Climb Above $2,300?
The daily TradingView chart shows Ethereum trading beneath the marked resistance at $2,388.64. Even though the latest daily candle shows a positive move, ETH has not yet produced a convincing breakout above this zone.
A sustained push past $2,300 could offer an early recovery signal. Should buyers then reclaim $2,388.64, the next major resistance looks to sit around $2,620.64. A break above this level could reinforce the broader bullish outlook.
To the downside, the $2,200 area remains a potential support zone to watch. Failing to hold above this approximate level could undermine the recovery attempt and leave ETH exposed to renewed selling pressure.
What Does the Ethereum MACD Indicator Show?
TradingView’s daily chart offers a mixed technical picture. The MACD line is currently at -67.20, whereas the signal line sits at -63.75. At -3.45, the histogram is still negative, which shows that bearish momentum has not entirely faded.
Even though ETH has posted a positive daily candle, the MACD setup indicates that buyers have not yet achieved a confirmed reversal in momentum. Stronger proof that buying pressure is taking hold would come from a bullish crossover together with improving histogram readings.
The displayed daily candle also records approximately 126.9K in trading volume. This provides additional context for the latest price movement, although the figure does not independently confirm stronger buying pressure.

What Impact Does Falling Ethereum Open Interest Have on the Outlook?
According to CoinGlass data, Ethereum’s open interest has fallen from roughly $34 billion in early October to about $28 billion by November 3.
This drop shows that the total USD value of outstanding futures positions has contracted alongside ETH’s price decline. While this may reflect traders reducing their derivatives exposure, falling open interest alone does not confirm whether positions are being closed or new bullish positions are entering the market.
The liquidation chart likewise reveals several notable liquidation events involving both long and short positions. These historical spikes highlight periods of volatility and forced position closures across the derivatives market, although the chart does not establish a fresh increase in liquidation activity.
Will Ethereum Price Confirm a Bullish Reversal?
Whether buyers can reclaim $2,300 and build firmer support above it will largely determine Ethereum’s next move. A breakout above $2,388.64 could brighten the recovery outlook, with $2,620.64 standing as the next key resistance.
Conversely, if price keeps getting rejected below resistance and momentum keeps weakening, ETH could be pushed back toward the $2,200 area.
Ted Pillows’ assessment points to improving relative strength, yet the negative MACD reading and falling open interest indicate that confirmation is still required. Cryptocurrency markets are still highly volatile, so traders should watch price action, market sentiment, and upcoming catalysts before making investment decisions.
