Hawkeye Digital (OTC: HWKE) announced Friday that it has partnered with Securitize (NYSE: SECZ) to tokenize its common stock on Ethereum, allowing eligible shareholders to hold and transfer their shares onchain beginning in 2027.

Unlike synthetic or wrapped stock tokens, the new digital shares will represent the same HWKE common stock currently traded on OTC Markets, retaining existing dividend and voting rights.

Each tokenized holding will be recorded on Ethereum and reconciled with Hawkeye’s official shareholder register. Transfers between eligible holders will be able to settle in near real time rather than through conventional settlement cycles.

Shareholders seeking tokenized shares must first transfer their holdings from brokerage accounts into direct registration with the company’s transfer agent. They can then convert their shares through Securitize after completing identity verification and anti money laundering checks.

The process is reversible, and participation remains optional. Hawkeye’s common stock will continue trading on OTC Markets under its existing ticker.

The announcement comes as public companies increasingly debate how their shares should be represented on blockchain networks.

As Crypto Briefing previously reported, 50 companies, including Nvidia, Microsoft and JPMorgan, have objected to having their shares tokenized through the proposed OKX and Intercontinental Exchange trading venue.

Hawkeye’s approach differs by having the issuer authorize the tokenization of its own shares, with ownership records maintained through Securitize’s regulated infrastructure.

David Wachsman, president of Hawkeye, said the company expects tokenization to become standard infrastructure for publicly traded companies and wants to participate in its development.

Billy Miller, chief operating officer of Securitize, said issuer sponsored tokenization is gaining momentum as more companies explore blockchain based share ownership.

Securitize was named the New York Stock Exchange’s first digital transfer agent under a March agreement to develop infrastructure for issuer sponsored tokenized securities.

The company reported approximately $5 billion in tokenized assets on its platform as of September 30 and works with major asset managers including BlackRock, Apollo and KKR.

Hawkeye’s president, David Wachsman, is also the founder and CEO of communications agency Wachsman, which is listed as the media contact for the announcement.

Hawkeye cautioned in its release that it has no relevant operating history in corporate advisory or the digital asset industry, and that its growth plans remain subject to financing and regulatory risks.
