A spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) based on INJ, the native token of Injective, has officially listed on the U.S. Nasdaq. The product, the "Canary Staked INJ ETF" from crypto-focused asset manager Canary Capital, trades under the ticker INJC. INJ's price reportedly rebounded upon the listing on November 5 (local time).
The key feature of the product is that it does not simply track price. It holds INJ spot directly while allocating a portion to staking—entrusting tokens to network validators—to pursue additional returns. For investors, this means simultaneous access to two sources of return: token price appreciation and staking rewards. Staking rewards, net of operating costs, are reflected in the fund's net asset value (NAV) rather than paid out separately in cash. Unlike direct crypto investing, investors can buy and sell ETF shares through a brokerage account without setting up a crypto wallet or choosing validators themselves.
There are structural caveats, however. The fund's value depends not only on INJ's market price but also on the size of staking rewards and operating costs, and intraday trading prices may diverge from NAV. Staking rewards also fluctuate with network conditions and are not guaranteed.
Injective is a Layer 1 blockchain with financial functions—from asset issuance to trading and settlement—built into the network. Because order recording and execution for buys and sells are provided at the protocol level, developers and institutions can layer financial services on top without building infrastructure from scratch. INJ is used to pay transaction fees and to maintain validation and security on the network, and holders receive staking rewards and voting rights on decisions related to network operations.
Institutional features are also in place. "Injective Mint" helps institutions set conditions for holding and transferring assets and issue and manage tokenized assets, and the platform "CypherOS" was introduced to preserve confidentiality in trading and tokenization processes. USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the dollar, is used for transfers and settlement of payments within the network. According to Injective's own figures, native USDC issued directly on the network surpassed $25 million (approximately 34 billion won) as of October, and cumulative transactions processed exceeded 3.13 billion as of October 22. Blockchain analytics platform Token Terminal counted roughly 257,300 monthly active addresses for October.
Note: Staking rewards fluctuate with network conditions and are not guaranteed
Stephen McClurg, CEO of Canary Capital, said that in digital asset investing, "what matters more and more is which financial demand each network actually serves," and assessed Injective as "a finance-focused network equipped with the functions needed for trading and asset tokenization." He added that the ETF is a product focused on the growth potential of this kind of financial infrastructure.
Eric Chen, co-founder of the Injective Foundation, said Injective "started with the goal of moving financial markets onto the blockchain," and that "this Nasdaq listing is an opportunity to introduce Injective's financial technology and services to investors in the U.S. securities market." He also outlined plans to expand the network's use in real-world finance, from institutional asset issuance to trading and settlement.
The listing extends the broader expansion of altcoin ETFs. As listed products based on other digital assets such as Solana continue to appear, asset managers are trying to differentiate beyond simple price tracking by combining staking yield. Injective also signaled a token-economics overhaul earlier this year aimed at reducing supply, so the emergence of a fund that accumulates and stakes INJ dovetails with the narrative of shrinking circulating supply and expanding institutional participation.
Market observers say the listing has widened institutional access to altcoins, while also noting that investors should weigh the complexity of the product structure, given the high volatility of the underlying asset and the fact that staking yield depends on network conditions. INJ's price rebounded on the listing news, but its future path will depend on staking reward rates, fund inflows, and actual usage of the Injective network.
