Tokenized stock trading on Solana reached a new daily record on Monday, with approximately $657 million in volume. Backpack Securities accounted for around $598 million of that activity, highlighting the platform's growing influence in the network's expanding real-world asset (RWA) market.
The daily volume was more than double the previous record set on any day since September. The surge also comes as Solana's broader RWA ecosystem continues to expand, with its total value reaching approximately $5.12 billion.
However, the concentration of trading activity on Backpack raises an important question: can Solana sustain this growth beyond a handful of major platforms?
Backpack accounts for most of the record trading volume
Backpack Securities generated approximately $598 million of the $657 million in tokenized stock trading recorded on Monday. That represents roughly 91% of the day's total.
The platform offers tokenized versions of traditional stocks and exchange-traded funds on Solana. These assets can be transferred across compatible wallets and onchain applications, while eligible holders can redeem them for the corresponding underlying securities through Backpack's brokerage infrastructure.
The platform has been expanding its lineup with assets such as Meta shares, the Brazil ETF, and Cerebras stock. Its growing selection has helped it attract a larger share of Solana's tokenized-equity trading activity.
This follows a broader expansion of Backpack's tokenized stock business since its June 2026 launch. Its own platform data reported more than $5.3 billion in cumulative onchain volume between June 12 and October 18, alongside more than 430,000 token holders.
Altcoin Buzz previously covered Backpack's expansion into tokenized Brazil ETF and Cerebras shares. The latest volume record suggests that the platform's role in Solana's tokenized asset market is continuing to grow.
Solana's RWA ecosystem crosses $5 billion
The trading record comes alongside further growth in Solana's real-world asset market.
According to RWA.xyz data, Solana's distributed RWA value stood at approximately $5.12 billion in early November. The network also recorded around 862,792 holders, while 30-day transfer volume reached approximately $16.15 billion.
These figures cover a broader range of assets than tokenized stocks alone. Solana's RWA ecosystem includes tokenized equities, government securities, private credit, funds, and other traditional financial products.
The increase in transfer activity is particularly notable. It suggests that tokenized assets are moving between wallets and applications rather than simply remaining in circulation.
However, holder counts represent wallet addresses, not necessarily individual investors. A single person can control multiple wallets, so the number should not be interpreted as the number of unique users.
Altcoin Buzz previously reported when Solana's RWA value crossed $4 billion. Crossing $5 billion marks another milestone in the network's effort to attract traditional financial assets onchain.
Wall Street is also moving securities onto blockchains
Solana's growth is part of a wider shift toward tokenization across traditional finance.
The Depository Trust Company (DTC), a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), launched a tokenization service on October 28. The initial rollout allows participating financial institutions to convert eligible securities held in its custody into blockchain-based tokens.
The service launched with 20 participating firms and 34 eligible securities, representing approximately $30 trillion in market value. It initially operates on the Canton Network and a private blockchain built using Besu.
The initiative is significant because it brings blockchain infrastructure into an established part of the US securities market. However, the DTC service is designed for eligible institutions and is not the same as retail-facing tokenized stock trading on Solana.
Altcoin Buzz covered the launch in DTCC's tokenized securities service on Canton Network and private Besu.
Can Solana maintain the momentum?
The $657 million daily trading record highlights growing demand for tokenized stocks, but the distribution of that activity deserves attention.
Backpack generated approximately 91% of Monday's reported volume. That concentration means the record reflects substantial activity on one platform rather than equally distributed growth across Solana's tokenized-equity ecosystem.
Sustained expansion will depend on whether other issuers and trading venues attract more activity, liquidity improves, and tokenized securities develop practical uses across decentralized finance.
For Solana, the opportunity extends beyond representing traditional stocks as blockchain tokens. The larger goal is to make these assets transferable, tradable, and usable across financial applications.
Monday's record is another sign of progress, but continued growth across multiple platforms will be a more meaningful test of the market's maturity.
