Price action is weak, but not yet broken
SUI’s current Binance spot price is $0.85, inside a tight 24-hour range of $0.87 to $0.85 and below the 7-day SMA at $0.87, the 20-day SMA at $0.92, the 50-day SMA at $1.02, the 12-day EMA at $0.89, and the 26-day EMA at $0.93. The only longer average it is effectively sitting on is the 200-day SMA at $0.86, which makes this zone important: if buyers cannot reclaim the short-term averages, the market stays in a corrective structure.
The supplied momentum readout is also soft. RSI at 39.25 is neutral-to-weak, the MACD is negative at -0.0400, and the stochastic sits deep in oversold territory with %K at 18.21 and %D at 14.57. That mix usually describes a market that is stretched enough for a bounce, but not strong enough to call a trend reversal on its own.
Levels that matter now
The technical map leaves a narrow path. Immediate resistance is marked at $0.87, with stronger resistance at $0.88. Below current price, immediate support is $0.84 and strong support is $0.83. Bollinger positioning reinforces that setup: the lower band is $0.81, the middle band is $0.92, and %B at 0.1889 shows SUI trading close to the lower end of its recent volatility envelope.
Daily ATR(14) is $0.05, which matters because it suggests moves of a few cents are still normal here. In other words, the $0.84 to $0.83 band is close enough that a modest intraday flush could test it quickly, while any bounce that fails under $0.87/$0.88 would still leave the broader trend under pressure.
Derivatives are mixed, not euphoric
Binance Futures funding is slightly positive at 0.0030%, which does not signal a crowded extreme either way. Open interest stands at 99,725,641 contracts, with daily open interest value at $83,932,552 and a 24-hour OI decline of 2.11%. That matters because falling open interest alongside weaker spot price action usually points to reduced leverage participation rather than fresh directional conviction.
Positioning is still tilted long on Binance cohorts: the global long/short ratio is 2.1526, with 68.3% long and 31.7% short, while top traders show an even stronger long bias at 72.0% versus 28.0%. That does not prove broad-market bullishness, and it should not be confused with retail-versus-institutional positioning, but it does show that Binance traders are leaning long while price remains under technical pressure. Taker flow is closer to balanced, with a buy/sell ratio of 0.9131, so there is no clear aggressive bid carrying the market higher right now.
What would change the setup
If SUI can reclaim $0.87 and then $0.88, the case for a short squeeze-style rebound improves because price would move back above the nearest resistance band and begin challenging the short-term averages. If it loses $0.84, then $0.83 becomes the key floor to watch; a break there would leave the lower Bollinger band near $0.81 as the next technical reference.
For now, the message is straightforward: spot is pinned near support, momentum is weak, and derivatives are only mildly constructive. That combination argues for caution, not confidence, until price reclaims the near-term moving-average cluster.
