Super Group, the owner of Betway, said Africa offers significant growth opportunities. In August, Mozambique’s government decided to establish a dedicated legal framework for online gambling.
In its financial report, Super Group noted that mobile connectivity in Africa stands at just 28%, compared with 74% globally. The continent is also home to 11 of the world’s 20 fastest-growing populations and 12 of its 20 fastest-growing economies, further highlighting its potential.
To support its expansion in Africa, Super Group announced the launch of Super Coin in November 2025. The stablecoin is pegged to the South African rand and is designed to address some of the banking challenges specific to the region.
In its latest results, Super Group confirmed that the wallet’s soft launch took place in April and remains on track for a public launch in early 2027.
The company is starting with South Africa, but also plans to target trading against the Nigerian naira on Nigerian exchanges in the fourth quarter of 2026. It is also progressing an application for a license for a Kenyan shilling stablecoin.
In its wider results, growth in Super Group’s online casino business supported the operator’s third-quarter performance, while player-friendly results weighed on its sportsbook performance.
iGaming now accounts for 85% of Super Group’s net revenue. Its growth helped offset declines in sportsbook revenue across the group’s international segment, as well as a marginal increase in sportsbook revenue across its eight African markets.
Overall, group revenue rose 10% year on year to $611 million, up from $557 million in the third quarter of 2025. Profit increased to $142 million from $96 million over the same period, while adjusted EBITDA rose 8% year on year to $165 million.
Super Group Chief Executive Officer Neal Menashe said:
“Q3 once again demonstrated the strength and resilience of our casino-led business model. Despite customer-friendly sports results, we continued to grow revenue and Adjusted EBITDA. Casino provides a durable earnings base that allows us to absorb short-term sports volatility.”

Super Group is also pursuing expansion beyond Africa.
The group confirmed that it has established itself in Alberta’s market following its launch there in July. It also won the right to apply for three licenses in New Zealand’s online casino license auction process. Super Group’s international segment grew 5% year on year, or 9% excluding US revenue. The company is still in the process of exiting the US market.
The group also reported strong progress in the UK, where net revenue grew 13%. This was achieved despite the introduction of a new 40% remote gaming duty rate. Super Group said the impact was offset by lower processing costs, banking fees and royalties following the consolidation of its sportsbook operations.
Menashe added:
“We delivered strong profitability across Africa, and International made meaningful progress across product, pricing and technology. We believe that our underlying business remains strong, and we look forward to the opportunities ahead.”

Despite this positive outlook, Super Group lowered its 2026 revenue guidance to between $2.525 billion and $2.575 billion, down from $2.6 billion. It also revised its adjusted EBITDA estimate to between $700 million and $720 million, compared with previous guidance of at least $710 million.
