Bitcoin has extended its recovery above $80,000, and turned what initially looked like another ugly post-election selloff into a strong V-shaped rebound.
BTC is trading around $80,600 at the time of writing. The attached Binance chart shows a 24-hour low near $79,772 and a high around $81,188, with Bitcoin up roughly 3.2%.
The more impressive move started slightly earlier.
Bitcoin briefly touched approximately $75,690 before buyers stepped in. From that low to the current $80,600 area, BTC has recovered roughly 6.5%.
The question for November 5 is no longer if Bitcoin can bounce.
It is how much fuel is left after such a fast recovery.
What you'll learn 👉
Why Is Bitcoin and Crypto Pumping Right Now?
The recovery began after the uncertainty surrounding the U.S. midterm elections faded.
Bitcoin initially dropped toward $75,700 as Democrats won both chambers of Congress, but buyers quickly returned once the result became clear. CoinDesk reported heavy demand for bullish Bitcoin options during the reversal, including roughly $420 million of call-option purchases compared with around $105 million sold.
The macro backdrop has since become more favorable for risk assets.
The U.S. dollar fell to a one-month low, the 10-year Treasury yield moved down to around 4.85%, and oil prices dropped heavily as markets increased bets on an eventual reduction in Middle East tensions.
Bitcoin has responded alongside stocks.

BTC was up about 5.7% over 24 hours earlier Thursday, with Ether gaining roughly 8%, XRP almost 5% and Solana close to 6%.
There is also a positioning element.
Bitcoin entered the election deeply sold off after dropping below $76,000. Once buyers reclaimed $78,000 and then $80,000, traders positioned for further downside had another reason to exit.
That combination of improving macro conditions, reduced political uncertainty and bearish positions being unwound has helped turn the rebound into a much larger move.

Bitcoin Chart Analysis: Momentum Is Strong, But BTC Is Getting Hot
The 2-hour chart has changed considerably over the past 48 hours.
Bitcoin formed a local bottom at $75,690 before recovering toward $78,000. The real change came when BTC broke through that zone and produced a large green candle toward $80,000.
Since then, price has consolidated around $80,300-$80,800 instead of immediately giving the move back.
That is constructive.
The indicators, however, show that short-term traders should be careful.
The fastest RSI reading on the chart is around 72.8, with the medium reading near 70.6. Both are in overbought territory. The slower RSI remains lower at roughly 64.3, so the broader 2H momentum is strong without being as stretched.
MACD is also firmly positive.
The MACD line is near 822 compared with the signal line near 641, and the histogram remains green. However, the latest histogram bars are beginning to shrink.
That does not mean Bitcoin must fall. It does tell us that the acceleration seen during the initial breakout is cooling.
CCI has also dropped back toward 84 after briefly reaching much higher levels during the pump.
Put together, the chart says something fairly specific: the trend has turned bullish in the short term, but Bitcoin may need consolidation before another vertical move.
Bitcoin Price Prediction for November 5
The first level to watch today is $80,000.
As long as BTC remains above that area, buyers retain control of the immediate setup.
The next resistance is yesterday’s 24-hour high near $81,200, followed by the broader $82,000-$82,500 zone.
That $82,000 region is particularly interesting because analysts were already identifying it as a potential rebound target when Bitcoin was still trading near $78,000.
My base case for today is Bitcoin trading between roughly $80,000 and $82,200, with consolidation after the powerful rebound.
A clean move through $82,200 could open the door toward $83,500-$84,000. Beyond that sits the recent 2H swing high around $84,875, but reaching it today would probably need another strong catalyst.
The bearish scenario begins if Bitcoin loses $80,000 and cannot quickly reclaim it.
In that case, the first area I would watch is $78,500-$79,000. A deeper reversal could bring $77,000-$78,000 back into play.
For November 5, I would give the scenarios roughly:
- Base case, 50%: $80,000-$82,200
- Bullish case, 30%: $82,200-$84,000
- Bearish case, 20%: $78,500-$80,000
The recovery from $75,690 has been powerful enough to change the short-term picture.
But after a 6%+ rebound and with the fast RSI now above 70, the next bullish signal would not necessarily be another huge green candle.
